Rams to be back on the top… in
about three years
March 9th, 2010
Talking about the NFL right now is talking about speculation on every team in the league as most squads are trying to fill their rosters with the best free agents in the market but also thinking about the NFL Draft that will be a month from now.
The most exciting thing about the draft is to see who is going to be the number one pick, in this case who will be the guy the St. Louis Rams will pick first next April 22th.
The thing is that it doesn’t matter for next year whoever they pick. When the NFL lines are out to see which team is the favorite to win the Super Bowl next season, I wouldn’t expect to see the Rams in that list.
If you like the online betting action perhaps you are expecting the Rams to pick DT Ndamukong Suh from Nebraska as he will be an immediate impact player in the team.
However St. Louis signed defensive tackle Fred Robbins on a three-year contract on Monday, meaning they are looking for Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford to be their QB of the future.
The thing about Bradford
is that after his shoulder injury he became a question mark. I mean, the
talent is there but the question remains as how much does the surgery affect his
mechanics?
Bradford led his team to the BCS championship game in 2008, losing to the
Gators in the final but claiming at the end the
Heisman Trophy after a great season. As I said the talent has been proved,
the guy has what it takes, now is about developing into a pro QB.
The problem for Bradford if he gets selected by the Rams is that history says only one QB made a huge impact since they moved to St. Louis and that is the legendary Kurt Warner.
Warner drove them to two Super Bowl appearances and one ring and I’ll bet that is what the Rams fans are dreaming if they select Bradford in this draft.
